hmm... one of the greatest thing to admire about science is that there will always (most of the time) be scientists who will disagree on current theories- and defending scientists will treat rival theories with respect if it is backed up by evidence. that is, science is structured not to be dogmatic (unlike religion).
for instance, ill have to disagree with you on your beer hypothesis, because it is not science.
it is inherently subjective (i.e. some beer tastes good to some people and some don't) and this is not measurable.
to further muddy the issue, we also have to recognize that our thoughts are affected by peer-pressure. for instance, me and my buddies drink redhorse all the time because we think it's the best beer. however, some group of oldmen (my dad included) think that san miguel is better!!! maybe their tastebuds are just not functioning well the way they use to! but that is just my guess and personal opinion.
in short, your beer hypothesis is not a science, but a religion!
