Heya! This is the hottest erotic literature today.
Anybody who has read, is reading, will be reading the trilogy?
I have started reading, slowly... but my girl friends have been telling me to spare a weekend to read all 3 books because it's very addicting...

I read all three books.
The writing is atrocious.
But that EL James sure knows how to manufacture the perfect guy. Good-looking, filthy rich, great in bed. How can anyone resist the allure that is Christian Grey?

I'm a fan of romance, but it was a challenge reading it. Challenge to my open-mindedness and tolerance for romantic heroines like Ms. Steele. But it's romance, so... *shrugs*
An enlightening intro about BDSM. Not sure if it's a good one, but I think the "stigma" has cracked a little (if not totally broken).

If you're looking for a good introduction to BDSM literature (and insight into a submissive's state of mind), I suggest The Story of O by Pauline Reage. Alas, my copy was almost completely destroyed by termites.
Also, we have sensei Shinobi for further enlightenment.

I read all 3 books. Maybe I'm just the realistic, not-so-romantic (and quite bitter ) kind of girl so i found the books to be so familar and predictable.
It's in general an entertaining read, considering the R18 contents.  But I see it as another Cinderella story - an ordinary girl was loved the perfect prince kind of story. Parang love story starred by ABS CBN actors but produced by Seiko. Haha.
I also noticed na parang limited lang talaga ang mga characters that romantic connections happened between Anastacia and Christian's circle of friends. Parang sila sila lang.

Going on a tangent here, there's a shop in US that sells BDSM Halloween costumes based on the trilogy, and while fans eagerly availed of the merchandise, it also sparked an outrage from other readers of the books.
Like Twilight, 50 Shades of Grey capitalizes upon unrealistic and romanticized fantasies, only this time it's about being raped, subdued, and used by a sexual predator. And like with the vampire series, Grey's target audiences are young adults, particularly females, who are still naive to more complex sexual relationships.

As I keep on reading my eyes out on Martin's, Song of Ice and Fire, girls at our OR are hammering E.L. James's book. I borrowed it for awhile and took a bit of a sample. Seems like an easy read  font's pretty big and good spacing as well, made Martin's book look like a Bible =x
I've got it as an E-book for now. Not really got in depth with it yet. If I like the taste more then I'll get the book Pero first impression ko dun sa nabasa ko eh parang target talaga nito eh mga chicks =/
