i love the photograph of the baby seagull and that old sailship... keep up the good work... wish i could take photographs like you.

nice shots.

some suggestions though:

pic #1: maybe you could reduce the aperture and lower the shutter speed to get a better detail of the clouds. there seems to be a pretty nice cloud formation, it would be great if you could include that in the pic.

pic #3: the subject is de-emphasized by the surrounding water. you could use a higher aperture so the focus would remain on the seagull, leaving the water a bit faded out.

i especially like the marina.... it reminded me of both steveston (our wharf here) with the tall ships; and false creek....

you have got a good eye and good taste for subjects.

Ixus 30? nice cam.

eventually you may want to have more control on your shots, in which case you could opt for an SLR (or something with more manual controls)

and, no, i'm no pro... just a hobbyist like you. i learn from reading and experimenting.
