anyone watching this series? nakaka isang season pa lang sya and the second season is coming up. this show makes me want to be a lawyer. elibs lang ako ke harvey specter at kay mike ross.

Hubby and I have finished all episodes, up to season 2, episode 2 (next ep is on Thursday). Despite some plot contrivances, overall the storytelling, casting, and characterization are good.

It's good that the story didn't focus too much on Mike Ross's abilities, lest he quickly become a one-trick pony like what happened with Patrick Jane in The Mentalist. Gabriel Macht and Gina Torres are both convincing as strong and intelligent mentors; one can't fake intelligence in acting.

I also like that they took the cases out of the courtroom, eschewing the overdone drama that ruins suspension of disbelief in previous related TV series like LA Law or Ally McBeal.

i like suits... but how do they explain away the fact that no one has snooped up or did a BI on mike's scholastic records

^That's one of the plot contrivances I previously mentioned. I think it was implied from the start that Donna also knew (she's responsible for the checks), then they only cemented the idea later when Mike's position was at risk.

I love the dynamics of this show - how the characters converse, how a situation can turn in favor of one character or another.

I thought the love affair or should I say bromance is between Mike and Harvey....heheh...This show captures the Manhattan lifestyle beautifully...just look at those suits that the characters wear. That applies to both the men and women of the show. Who has money these days for $2300 basic suits from Tom Ford. Makes you wish you are part of the show, eh? But then I remember TV is not reality, and reality is not TV, thank GOD! In this TV series life happens every second, and that's a concept that the writers on this show have captured almost perfectly. The dialogues are witty...sometimes you have to double back at what some of the characters say in order to understand what's really going on.

The plot suddenly became more serious and a tad slower than the previous season, but the pace has picked up in the latter half.

David Costabile is wonderfully evil as Hardman, yet he was also able to pull off the harmless persona in Breaking Bad. It's also good that the writers are now showing several chinks in Pearson's otherwise impenetrable character; she's more relatable and sympathetic to the audience than in the first season.
