Sweet. Here's what happens:

SAMPLE PLAY

Lumen stretches her arm and then her fingers. A beam of light shoots from her palm towards DeWin, bathing her. DeWin feels power coursing through her being. She begins to recall everything she has ever known or learn, all she was taught with, especially her spells. The descriptions, uses, extent, and components of all her spells occupy her mind at the same time. She feels as if she could cast all of her spells together and wants to, but remembers she can only cast them one at a time.

DeWin's Smarts is now d12 + 3 and will stay that way until the end of round three, but her Power Points are down to eight because she spent two on the Magic Missile spell. Lumen's Power Points are down to seven.

Okay, round 1 is over, girls. Round 2 begins. l0, Lav, what does DeWin and Lumen do in this round?

By the way, GM, the Shield spell is only to protect the user himself only or the party as well? Also, I do not understand fully the Comprehend Language spell. Does it have any effect on any characters?

I just want to confirm if I understood the description before making a move.

My bad, you did choose Hold Person, but I forgot to list it. Could you add it to the list of Lumen's spells, under Detect Magic, please. Its level is Novice.

The Wizardess Spells PDF states that Shield is the same as Deflection in Savage Worlds. Like I wrote in an earlier post, whenever you read a spell described as "Exactly like the Savage Worlds power (name of power)" or something like that, open the Other Spells PDF and look the power up.

Now page 89 of Other Spells PDF basically states that the spell affects one person only, be it the caster herself or her target. But take note that the spell only makes the person more difficult to hit by subtracting two to the die roll for the attack at the person.

There are only a few spells that affect more than one person. There are even fewer spells that affect the caster alone too.

Also, I do not understand fully the Comprehend Language spell. Does it have any effect on any characters?

Comprehend Language is the same as Speak Language. Go look up its description. But why would you be interested in such a spell in a situation where DeWin is fighting a bandit she can perfectly understand?

Powerful indeed. A druid's spells tap on the forces of nature, including animal and plant life.

I drew a king of spades for the other bandit and two of hearts for the hurt bandit. Thus, the other bandit acts first, then DeWin, then Lumen, and then the hurt bandit.

SAMPLE PLAY

The other bandit sees his hurt accomplice with a frightened look. He then looks at Dewin and then Lumen back and forth for a couple of seconds. His sight finally locks on Lumen. All of a sudden, he lunges with his knife, but Lumen blocks his hand with her staff, making him miss too.

Okay, l0, click the third-to-the-last Roll button and tell me the result, which should be from one to twelve. Remember what I wrote to Lav about Acing the roll (see post no. 80), which is getting a twelve in this case.

Lav, click the same button Roll button I told you to click in round 1 and be ready to tell me the result after I'm done with l0. Which bandit do you want to put under the Hold Person spell, the hurt bandit or the other bandit?
